About the Program

The Premier Functional Medicine Training for Nurses

This two‑semester program is the first of its kind to teach functional medicine entirely through the clinical lens of nursing. Whether you practice in primary care, community health, inpatient care, or your own private practice, you’ll gain the skills to confidently and ethically integrate systems thinking and root‑cause care into your nursing scope.

Our curriculum blends foundational science with advanced clinical application, all tailored specifically for nursing professionals—RNs and advanced practice nurses. Guided by graduate‑prepared, IFM‑trained nursing faculty, you’ll learn within an evidence‑informed framework rooted in whole‑person care. Every lesson is designed to prepare you for the realities of nursing practice, so you can apply functional medicine with clarity, confidence, and measurable impact in your work.

As the premier functional nursing program and an official partner of the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), the Institute for Functional Nursing offers you more than education—we connect you to the broader functional medicine community. Through our interprofessional membership with IFM, you’ll receive exclusive discounts on IFM courses and resources, along with opportunities to collaborate with leaders across healthcare disciplines.
